Columbus Day Mini Vacation

As usual, disaster does not trail too far behind the Falcon Clan. Never anything that is absolutely treacherous, just enough to get a person frazzled. I tend to be the one behind most of the frazzle causing dilemmas, and this time was no different.

I would like to back track and make sure to BLAME one of the other many pregos in our life Cameron for my mishap. Why? Because aside from Cindy, who I have also blamed for spreading her germs via text and phone, Cam is the only one who I came in contact with who also got sick! So shame on you Cam and her little A--- I can understand you are very sharing but PLEASE friend next time keep your germies to yourself. Thank you.
So yeah, back to ME. It started on Tuesday evening, with what was really just a very annoyingly persistent cough. But since my immune system stinks, I really took it in stride. Nothing big, just a little cough. As I had mentioned earlier, Cam had been feeling sick since Monday so I chalked it up to her cold and nothing more. However I spent all day Wednesday feeling like poo and with a fever. Again, honestly me and fevers we have a special relationship. I hate fevers, but they must love me--- I get a fever from any little thing. Seriously. Of course, I called my OB right away. He told me I could take regular Tylenol for my fever and Robitussin for my cough. Which means that I had to thug it out with just Tylenol, because yes people I am allergic to cough syrup. Well not cough syrup, codeine which is in EVERY cough syrup.

Thank goodness for my mom, she swept in and took over Omi duty for the day. I was in bed all day feeling awful and just sleeping it off. Thursday came--- and the fever was in full force, no fun. Once the OB office opened, gave them another call and told the doc I had spent the entire night fighting a fever and that Tylenol really had not helped much. The rest is history I guess.

Yours truly had the H1N1 virus. How on earth do I always manage to get all this crap? My biggest worry of course was that little man too had developed a little bit of a cough. So Omar ran to the pediatrician and had him checked out and got him on meds asap. Luckily and unluckily, apparently my immune system is the only one that is broken. Big Omar not only spent all 5 days at the hospital with me but also with our cold infested little one in the evenings as well and nothing, not even a sniffle! I guess that is a good thing. I know I can count on the hubs to cater to me when I am volatilely ill and not have to be too concerned about getting him sick.

The worse part was not even being sick or stuck in the hospital for 5 days. But being away from my little monster. I got to watch daily video clips via text... and oh boy did the tears flow with those. I unfortunately have dealt with this separation in the past, not too long ago either... just last April. Remember that week long hospital stay? Which no Dr ever figured out what I had been plagued with. Another post, another time... lol. But as I was saying although this was not the first time I had to be kept away from my little one, it was so much more difficult. People, a sick, 5 month hormone surged pregnant woman stuck in a hospital is not anyone you want to willingly deal with. Thank you Omar... you prove to me more and more how absolutely perfect you are.

So... I am much better now. Still have a little bit of a cough, but that is almost completely gone. One of the most annoying things from the whole ordeal? Every time I would have a cough attack--- I would pee myself. Enough said-

Then and Now

I usually post something regarding our wedding closer to the anniversary date of Jan.7, but decided to post a little tid bit today. This past weekend we visited Pinecrest Gardens for my cousin's baby shower. Of course, as usual we had a nice time with the family. Always interesting when that half gets together. Cheesiness galore I know, but it was so nuts to be standing where we got married almost four years ago with a bump and little man hanging around too! It looks much nicer than it did when we got married. Lol, but than again we DID have that pesky little Hurricane Wilma visit us three months before the wedding. And she could not help but make a total mess of the gardens and decided to take an oak tree or two with her. How time flies... and oh boy how things change.

Baking up a storm!!!

Gotcha! Now how many of you likely thought it would be a post about something fabulous that I created over the weekend? WRONG!!!

However, it is about something breath taking that Omar and I started to bake back in June. Our precious Little A. Just in the womb and already completely different personality than his big brother. Whenever we would go for an ultrasound for Omi he would be jumping all around the place moving and being quite the exhibitionist. Little A, not so much. Seems like he is not a fan of the photogs. He likes to hide his cute little face behind my placenta (how obscenely gross does that sound!). And on more than one occasion it can be said he has mooned his poor parents. Time seems to be flying with this one though. Omar says it likely has a lot to with the fact the Omi has me constantly running around after him. And well, baby showers every other weekend plus the holidays right around the corner right before he makes his grand entrance in February.

I feel just as anxious to meet our Little A as I did with Omar, which is something I am VERY proud of. I have seen quite a few pregos not be as eager with their second bundle as with the first. Some say the other just leaves them with no energy to truly enjoy the experience again. Believe me, Omarito leaves me absolutely drained come 8 pm but I love being pregnant. Yeah- if I could exclude the whole puking thing (which still happens on occasion at 21 wks in my world) I would have no complaints. Last time was way worse though... at least with this one I get to enjoy digesting a meal unlike with Omi. Puking although NEVER fun, did accompany my greatest achievement up to date.

Kudos to big Omar! As always, he does his best to keep baby momma happy. As some would say, if momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy. Mr. Falcon definitely does more than his share in keeping momma happy. I am at home, yet he still helps me with folding laundry in the evenings. UGH! How I loathe folding laundry and putting baby clothes on hangers.. blech! Poor Omar is already mentally preparing himself to be on double duty when the little one arrives. Two weeks following his birth should be interesting... since those are the really "fun" times after a c section.

Last but definitely not least here are some lovely 3D pictures of our little bun baking away. Those of you who get creeped out by the whole seeing baby inside womb experience... LOOK AWAY!!!!

WHOA!

So yesterday we were at Omar's parent's house doing our usual Sunday family bbq thing. After a LONG weekend of baking, I decided that I deserved a nice massage courtesy of the jacuzzi. And while plopping myself into the water, my adoring hubby/ photog snapped this beaut of a pic. -ENJOY

Although looking quite big in the abdominal region, I am rather proud of myself. So far I have managed to only gain 13 lbs. Not too shabby for a 20 week prego I like to tell myself. Hopefully I won't get too extremely large. However, we all know the odds are not on my side. OB says little A is already measuring slightly larger than he should (only a week difference though). So I am hopeful it won't be too extreme. Since Omi was pretty big they will likely keep a closer eye on this little bundle the closer D day gets here.

May the Best of Your Todays be the Worse of Your Tomorrows

Yesterday we had a much needed girl session, with my beloved friends Darlene, Rosemary, and Anabel (aka Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia)... lol! I cannot believe it had been almost a year since we all got together in one place. I love catching up-- turns out I need updates more than the rest. LOL- I am convinced that I zone in and out of conversations, which leads me to miss out on a lot of important stuff it seems. No wonder why I picked Rose... not too far fetched it seems. But regardless, I do love spending time with the girls every so often. Touch base you know... make sure everyone is doing well in their lives etc. Although if there were anything huge altering we would all likely hear about it before another reunion. I guess it is always interesting for me to see how although we all have grown up and become successful woman in our way, we are all kind of the same. Not that we are the same exact kids we were in 2000, but the core is basically the same. We all really haven't change ALL that much.

I know things do not always turn exactly how we picture they would when we were 18... and may not be where we thought we would be at this age- as cheesy as this sounds though we are not bad off. We each have our health, supporting and loving families, and although they ALL drive us nuts (it is what they do) we all are blessed with men who do love and care for us immensely. Love does not always solve everything, but it eases the pain during the hardships guys.

Before I become a pregnant blabbering mess due to hormones... let me wrap this one up. Although things do not always seem ideal, we always have each other :0)

::PROOF::

So although if you ask my abuela she would argue and tell you differently- in her exact words "tu no tienes mucha barriga, lo que tu estavas llenita y nalguda" (translation you don't have that big of a belly you were chunky and big butted to begin with). I truly had lost all of my baby weight before we managed to get pregnant again. It was actually very hard for me to accomplish. Thanks to big Omar and his pushing me to the gym I got it done. I attribute some of the weight loss to my little week stay in the hospital, but none the less it got done! So below you shall see concrete unphotoshopped pictures of a much thinner Yvette. The ones in the maxi dress were taken in June at the baseball banquet (probably RIGHT before I got preggo) and the other not sure exactly. I am much rounder these days... lol. However I am 19 wks, and I have only gained 10 lbs-- so I don't think I am doing too bad. Plus, I also asked my OB if it was safe to continue the gym he told me no- solely walking. And I am just not inspired enough to walk aimlessly around the block in this horrible heat/ humidity. I like to believe that my daily exercise is running after little man, trust me more than enough cardio!

**funny little story behind the pictures of us at the banquet. When Omar first sees the pic, he asks me "who is that in front of me?" I of course think he is trying to be a smart ass, say "your girl friend". He was serious, and said "I feel like I'm so used to seeing you with your bump already I swear I had no clue" I was a little itty bitty bitter about the confusion**

Little Milestone

Ok so for a very long while little man has invaded our bed. Much like most first time parents, we thought it was cute to have them sleep in bed with us. Only to realize how terrible of a habit it is to break much too late. So last night we had a little play session in his bed with hopes to break the ice, and achieve him being put in his bed without screaming hysterically.
And although yes I did have to initially lay in bed with him until he wandered off to sleepy land--- I did it today! For the first time in what seems like forever little man is taking a nap in his own bed.
