Sweet 18.... plus 10

It is that time of year again.... when the world celebrates the arrival of Yvette and the parades and festivities take over Miami. Ok so perhaps I am exaggerating a little about how it all goes down but it could happen (in my little pea brain at least).

But yes folks... today I turned 28. Not all that different from 27 really. Except that I did get an early birthday present which was the BEST birthday present EVER!!! Being able to spend my birthday this year with my two little healthy boys, really what more could a mother ask for?

Although it did not start off too fabulously--- Aiden gifted me his present bright and early at 7 am, a nice little fresh poopy. Than it was followed by Omi waking up nice and early at 8:30. Which for those of you that do not know little man, he usually graces us with his presence around 11. So I did not get much sleep in the morning. However once my mom got here and went into abuela mode and took care of the monsters I was able to return to my slumber. Basically I spent the day just lounging around and resting. After all what else is there to do just a week after having a c- section? I suppose there is a lot to do, just very little desire to do so. I must admit having my mom here this week has been AWESOME! She has cleaned the house, bathed the kids, and cooked for me while Omar is at work. Plus has kept me company and given me someone to chat with during the day. She now understands my pain of non stop ELMO, I am sure all my toddler moms know precisely what I am talking about.

To top off the evening, the family came over for dinner and did the usual cake cutting festivities. It is always nice to spend time with the family and friends.

So cheers to another birthday, they always sneak up on me. And this year it came up behind me so quickly, I almost forgot it myself! Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes, it is nice to be remembered and thought of. I really do feel so special; special to have two precious children, a magnificent husband who does it all for us, the BEST family (hands down) and lovely friends who truly are so faithful.

Thank you again guys... this birthday was low key but one of the memorable ones.

Growing 2 Feet at a Time

On February 2, 2010 our little family was again blessed with the arrival of another beautiful healthy baby boy. Little Aiden weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and measured 20 1/2 inches. Although he was a planned c- section, he came a day earlier due to some unexpected circumstances. For the most part it thank goodness it was nothing major. On Monday I had gone into triage because I had not felt him moving around and being his usual active little jumping bean self. When I was examined it turned out my amniotic fluid was lower than it should have been so I was admitted. They gave me 2ccs of fluid and got them back up to where they should be, but Dr. Leon decided to go ahead with the surgery a day earlier since I had already been admitted. The surgery went well and I must admit that recovery this time around has been much easier than it was with little Omar's delivery. We are still here at the hospital and will be here until Friday when we are discharged--- I cannot wait to get home to my little Omar which I miss so much!!! To have both my little guys together.... pure bliss.

Here are some pictures of the little guy, enjoy.

Just One More Week!!!!!

Yup you read correctly folks! February 3 is just one little week away! Exciting!!!!
Soon our precious little Aiden will be here. And our only child Omar will no longer be an only child. To an extent I think he knows it too. This week he has been extra clingy to me. He is for the most part a Papa's boy. This week however he has been all mine!!!! When things go a rye he yelps for "MAMA!" not to mention he has literally hung on me to the point of almost pulling my pants down. Thank goodness I have been home in the comforts of our kitchen during these induced plumber crack incidents.

I really have been in FULL nesting mode as of late too. Imagine moving at 34 weeks was crazy. But still unpacking at 38 weeks--- almost unheard of! Swollen monster looking feet have not even been able to keep me down. I have been quite the productive busy bee though. I have completed the kids room and I am proud to say that the baby's crib is clutter free. True he will be sleeping in our room in his cradle regardless--- but you know nice to know if I so chose to place him in his crib I could. Our bedroom is complete (except for our huge bed board which we just found the missing piece to) art is on the walls and everything. Our new closet is complete thanks to Omar and my dad and stuffed with clothes, shoes, purses and jewelery courtesy of me! I like to tell myself that our kitchen is complete--- but its just a little white lie. Besides, we are planning to re-do it sooner than later so I have decided to not put too much energy into it.

Alas our towel bars have yet to be put up-- but again Omar promised I would have them before Aiden makes his grand entrance so I am hoping that happens soon too. Plus we still have some windows to be replaced, but that will not likely happen until the new little man comes. The office is currently what my mom likes to call "el cuarto de las papas" (the sack of potato room) which I am using to hoard all the clutter. It helps me feel like my house isn't a complete disaster. I am proud to say that we almost and I stress ALMOST box and plastic bin free. I cannot wait to have MY room (office) set up. Omar promised me that once it is set up, I will be allotted at least an hour of ME time to scrap book and just get away from the boys!!! Oh I can't wait for that reality to come true!

And of course... some pictures of little Omar at a birthday party. I can't wait to see who Aiden will look like!

Sorry for the hiatus

Hi all... it has been at least a month since I actively blog. Yes I have been cheating and starting an entry but not posting with hopes to sit and update you all on our riveting experiences. But alas-- no such luck. All I have is a bunch of unfinished entries with a couple of pictures and just a lot of crap I guess- lol.

We are almost done on this end and Aiden is almost here... February 3 could not come soon enough!!! I can imagine if I have negative energy and time right now once he has made his grand entrance it will diminish even more. But I am definitely trying. As a matter of fact--- this afternoon we are making our way to my mom and dad's house. Hopefully I can take advantage and catch up on this whole blog business than!!! Until than, just wanted to post a little something to let y'all know we were still alive and blogging (lol).

Oh and just a little tidbit of information--- little Omar is sleeping in his big boy bed and loving it. Well most of the time, every so often we get an early morning visitor at our door step. But he is more than welcomed into the bed. I complain, but I miss his cuteness first thing in morning. But oh to be able to stretch and conquer my side of the bed again... BLISS

La cosa Nostra

At any given time of the year, our family has a birthday to celebrate, baptism, wedding, or random get together just for a reason to hang out with each other. Omar has gotten used to the fact that every other weekend there is some sort of event that keeps him from making plans for one reason or another. And the holidays are no exception! As a matter of fact we have that many more action packed evenings.

I know touched base on Black Friday in an earlier post, but did not get into details or pics..... so here you go. For Thanksgiving this year we went to my aunt Sofia's house. We were all suppose to be there, but unfortunately Angie got sick last minute and was not able to make it from Naples. It kinda stunk since she was the one who really got everyone together at Sofia's... but she was there is spirit :0) Seeing all the little together is always an adventure in it's own.

Every year my lito Aunt Esperanza has a Christmas get together at her home. This year however was a bit more "action packed" with all the monsters running around. Again, always nice to have all/ most of the fam together.

In between all the madness that is the holidays I managed to FINALLY pick up my diploma! Yes folks, that is right- the diploma that I EARNED about 2 years ago. Because I actually completed my degree back in 2007. Can you imagine, my diploma had just been sitting there in a drawer at the registrar's office. My mom was pretty proud to finally see the end result of what my parent's college funds in combination with their daughter had accomplished!

I am really looking forward to the rest of the holidays and all the fun stuff that come along with it. Visits with Santa, wrapping presents, Noche Buena, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve... fun fun fun!

Thank you for the Fabulousity

This past Sunday one of my besties and future "Co-Madre" Darlene organized my baby shower for little Aiden. Not only was it perfect--- she kept it simple and gorgeous. Most importantly--- I did not have to lift a finger. Although I must admit I did make my own cake, but more because I thought it would be a frivolous expense. I wanted it to match everything and had a particular vision for it... and for someone who is a control freak and had something planned for her for a change--- it was the one thing I could control (lol). But it was great, as always the fam bam was there and friends that are so close are considered part of the family! My little Little guy is so loved, I can't wait for his arrival. Little Omar loved opening the presents and helping Papa put the diapers away. I am sure Christmas morning this year is going to be crazy with him tearing through gift wrap. Here are a couple of snap shots from the day... enjoy.

A little old, but I LOVE it!

Yeah I'm a Republican, and have some conservative views... but I also have a couple liberal views as well. So it is a little hard to choose a "side". But in general I just don't care for Obama, I think he is too Hollywood and not enough Washington DC. So when SNL did this skit... I fell in love.
I hope you laugh as much as I did.
