The ghettoness should protrude from the title... ha ha ha ha. But its really nothing more than a title, sorry guys no further ghettoness from here on out. I just wanted to take the time to congratulate the hubby and three of his 14U players. We are currently in Fort Myers playing in a USA Baseball tournament.
::Allow me to give a bit more information regarding the tournament::
USA Baseball has two annual tournaments held on both the east and west coast. Although the teams participating are ultimately trying to win the tournament, it is truly not the sole goal of the participants. From these tournaments they select 20 players from all the participating teams (total of 40 both east and west coast). From those 40 players a team to represent the United States of America in the Junior Olympics is selected. With that said, not any team of the street can participate in the tournament. Your team(s) must be recommended and approved by USA baseball in order to play.
Such a once in a lifetime opportunity you would imagine that kids would be lined up to play. Instead folks, Omar had some players that he approached tell him that they would rather play with their little league teams in local tournaments. Not to mention that there were a couple of opposing team's coaches attempt to tarnish Omars name saying that he was just in it for the money and that this tournament would benefit any one except Omar (financially).
After all has been said and done... I very proud to announce that three of our boys received an invitation letter today to play for the USA team. It is such a huge accomplishment for the boys. Congratulations... Omar is VERY proud of your performances. He knows you all have the talent it takes to get the job done!
