Redbull vs. Full Throttle

Odd title I know- but it will all make sense soon enough! You guessed it, we joined a gym. Omar is a gym-rat, always has been... since before we even got together. He has had his moments where he has allowed me to drag him away from it, but for the most part he has been good at sticking to it. I on the other hand, quite the opposite. I do not care for the gym at all. I claimed to have gotten hives from the gym before. But it happened--- hell froze over. Omar got me to join the gym. And I am enjoying it, which is even more a surprise than anything else. Ultimately it was my decision to no longer be such a fatty. I have regained some weight after I had already lost it. So, we joined 24 Hour Fitness... and I have been so good about going. I was not sure how I would react to going every day- but I am so proud of myself. Yes I have taken a day a week off, but I need a day of rest too! However I have found that an energy drink does assist in keeping me going. Redbull is slightly better than Full Throttle. It not only kicks in faster, but last longer and I did not feel like I crash as bad with Redbull as I did with Full Throttle. I have yet to actually lose a pound... I am hoping that will soon follow shortly. Although, I must admit that I secretly tell myself I have lost weight.... it is what keeps me determined with my goal.

Oh and did I mention that Vin Diesel works out at our gym? LMFAO!!!! But than again, would you expect anything less from a person such as myself who flies in planes with Freddy Prinze Jr and Ashanti???

New found love-

I am a huge gadget buff. I own all kinds, from cleaning products to a flip and fold. Which up until now the flip and fold owned my heart. It was such a great contraption.... making folding laundry (aka the worse chore in the world) a bit more eventful and fun. I am an anything Swiffer aficionado.... I own the swiffer jet mop, vacuum, duster.... you name it. Omar thinks we should own stock in Swiffer I love it so much. I may own every stain remover known to man. I never met a stain I could not remove, although I love the challenge.

It does not stop at cleaning products as I mentioned earlier. I own paper crimpers, cutters, shredders- all for scrap booking needs of course. I love my cricut! I share a love for many of my gadgets. But today- today my love reached a new level. I am the proud owner of a Mr. Clean Eraser mop. I love it, recommend it to all, one of the best purchases I ever made. I am a huge fan of the magic eraser, fabulous for bath tubs--- to have a magic eraser on a stick is a dream. Thank you Mr. Clean, you are FABULOUS in so many ways.

Wanted to share

So it had been a while since I looked at one of my favorite baking blogs- Bakerella. She always has the cutest ideas, and I must say if not for her none of you would have tasted those delicious cupcake pops! After hearing that tid bit of information I am sure you are loving her for it now. So look at this fabulous and EASY recipe. It is a mix of brownies and cookie dough.... and for those of you who do not have all the time I do to make things from scratch, it is a nice alternative. Enjoy, I haven't tried them myself yet... but look delicious.

Proud as a Peacock

Well, I am very proud to say that Mr. Falcon has passed his First Responder course with a 98! I am so happy for him. As you know, I have always showed concern about if he was going to really like the whole Paramedic thing... but so far so good. He seems so into and understands it all. True- baseball will likely always be his mistress... but it is very comforting for me to see him enjoying his new endeavor. I just wanted to make sure that I took a little spot out to say how proud I was of him. He is juggling so many things, and succeeding in all of them. Congrats Omi!

Valentines and BBQs OH MY!

So my last post was basically a pity party all about how I was not loving my birthday. But you know... it happens. I think it is more so that I do not like getting older and older. However, I was comforted by my friends (only two are married) that at the ripe age of 27 I had a lot more than most.... I had a wonderful husband and healthy baby. So I quit my whining and made the best of it. I hear from Darlene that 27 is not all that bad and she feels more distinguished this year (lol).

Because I had moaned and groaned so much about my birthday and the few days that followed Omar wanted to make sure that Valentine's Day was nothing less than perfect. Since I had a cake to finish up, I woke up relatively earlier than usual. He packed up the little one and headed to the market while I finished up. By the time they arrived back home I was done with the cake and beginning to clean up and get dressed. Both of my perfect men whisked me away and took me on a picnic. I was nothing over the top, just nice and quaint. There were quite a few other couples at the park, but we managed to get our little corner nice and cozy. Set up a blanket, spread out all our food... and began to soak in the beautiful day. After our sandwiches, chips and cookies... we packed up our stuff and headed home. My mom took care of Omi while we headed out to the cliche of watching a movie on Valentine's Day. It had been quite a while since Omi and I had been out to the movies... I don't think we had been since before the baby was born. And yes, Omar picked the movie he KNEW I was dieing to watch, He's Just Not That Into You. I am a huge fan of the book, coincidentally I read it right before Omar came swaggering into my life. He proved the book right, and since than I have been trying to get my girlfriends to realize how true it is- but that is a whole nother post! By the way, great movie I loved it... and Omar thought it was good too (not the typical cheesy chick flick he had imagined). After our movie rendezvous we came home and napped for a bit.. we were both exhausted. And for dinner..... IHOP! Yeah I can imagine you must be thinking cheap and corny. But, there is some reasoning behind our IHOP dinner. First, everything is so crazy on Valentine's Day not to mention crowded and pricey. So a couple years back we decided we would sneak off to IHOP. No lines just Omar and I pretty much and it kinda takes us back to game days where the only thing open when the game was over was IHOP. We ended the evening in the hot tub just relaxing which was a treat as well... while abuela Lourdes looked after Omi. Such a treat, Valentine's day was definitely kind to me this year.

Since my birthday landed on a yucky Tuesday this year, and Saturday before was hectic and the Saturday after was Valentine's day.... we decided to have a BBQ on Sunday. Nothing too extravagant, just the usual people conjugating and playing dominoes. It was so funny, as I sat and mingled here and there it was brought up to me that my friends have been a part of my life since forever! With the exception of a few.... I have managed to stay close friends with the same folks I held close my high school years. Some I have known since kindergarten!!! It is amazing that we have all some how stuck together throughout the years. It really makes me quite sentimental... and yes now there is the power of facebook and myspace- but we stayed close even right after high school. Anabel left to fricking Germany! And D to LA... and well me I bounced around all over for a couple of years; but we always pick up right where we left out. That is so special to me. Thanks for coming out for another year guys... even though it said 26, we all know the truth.

Another year comes and goes

Been a minute since I write on here, so you would imagine I would have some serious catching up to do. And of course, I am trying not to disappoint. Although not completely boring, really not all that eventful.

Last week I was pretty slammed with work, so blogging was not an option. And quite honestly with Valentine's Day right around the corner I really should not be messing around on the pc but I digress. I had a couple of cute cakes I did this past weekend. I really enjoyed doing Justin's birthday cake. And from what I have been told everyone enjoyed it as well. So that was a HUGE plus, getting paid is the goal of course but knowing that the little one loved his cake is a bit more fulfilling to me honestly.

I was actually really looking forward to going to Justin's birthday party and catching up with some old school friends, but alas Omar's agent called and off we were to a tryout up in Lakeland. Which would bring me to my next "event"---- don't get me wrong, was well worth it. Omar had a really good try out I think. Granted I am the wife, and likely a bit bias... but his timing was impeccable. He threw right along second, didn't fall short of the base. I would say he was throwing from 1.9 to 2.1. Which is really good. Not to mention they made him run the 60---- which is so0o0o worth making that drive for me. I love watching him run. Now most of you have seen him run, so you know what I am talking about. He tries so hard to run fast, and if you were to just look at him without any background you would believe he was running super fast. But alas, when placed against a background it appears as if he is almost running in place. Probably one of the funniest things I find about him. Which doesn't bother him at all, he knows he is not a fast runner. And truthfully as a catcher, he does not need to be "fast" and is not really expected to be a speedster. And my all time favorite--- watching him hit. It is actually odd and bizarre how much I love to watch him hit. Even though I do get annoyed with him during games... we all know Omi is either yamma or K. So many times he should allow himself to get walked and doesn't--- oh the joys of returning to the anticipated walks turning into "croquetas" and pit in my stomach. He did not disappoint during BP though.... crushed quite a few balls and gave his little man a show to be proud to watch although little Omi will recollect nothing of his Lakeland mini trip. However, I as always have documentation of both him in the hotel room and at the yard.

And last most definitely not least... yesterday was my birthday. (wah-wah-waaaaaaah). It was nothing spectacular, but it was nice. Omar took the day off from work as I had requested. When I rolled out of bed the three of us went to breakfast at none of other than Omar's favorite IHOP. He loves those pancakes, and I too have welcomed the cheesiness into my life. Afterward I went and got my much needed mani pedi. Only to routine it less than a day later. I have the worse luck when it comes to maintaining a fresh manicure. It is somewhat of a tradition that I have learned to despise, but deal with anyway. Now the next portion of the day was an interesting one. There is a Oriental Massage place near the house, I am convinced I will see it on 20/20 or Dateline one evening. It is open until late and just has a shady vibe. You know the ones I am talking about, happy endings etc. So, Omar either out of curiosity or who knows what decides to purchase me a massage at this place for my birthday. I must say it really was not all that bad, not the best--- but not horrific. But wow, the vibe I got when I walked in... just plain blah. I think it was perhaps how dark it was all over the place. There were so many doors in random places, two in the room where I received my massage. I can honestly say that I was not able to fully enjoy my massage with the squirmy feeling in my stomach not to mention the fear that the feds would be storming in at any moment to bust what I thought was an Oriental whore house. Needless to say, not of the most pleasant experiences. It was so weird that when I was done Omar had not gotten there yet and I choose to wait outside the building instead of the lobby area. Now the rest of my day was quite uneventful. Omar had school so not much was really done. I did his homework for his online class and took and quiz for him as well. Yeah imagine, I finished school and still am doing homework on my birthday. I am a frickin' amazing wife I tell you. Later in the evening the fam-bam and friends came over. We cut a yummy ice cream cake. MMMmmmmmMMMM... I love me some ice cream cake. Those little cookie bits they put in the middle are my absolute favorite. Since my birthday landed on a miserable Tuesday, on Sunday we'll be doing a BBQ. I am hoping that it goes a bit smoother than my actual birthday did. Again, I hate to be that ungrateful girl---- I just anticipated it better. I really don't know what I was wanting, just maybe something not so predictable. Mani pedis and massages are wonderful, but I am beginning to see a pattern develop when it comes to birthday gifts. How bratty must I sound- Well here are some more pictures of Little O and I at IHOP, singing Happy Birthday, and just our usual goofing around.
